Summer Institute for Teens

June 9 - 13, 2025

This program will meet at Nasher Sculpture Center June 9 - 11 and at The Warehouse June 12 – 13.

Do you love art? Would you like to meet artists and museum professionals? Would you enjoy learning along with other creative high school students?

The Summer Institute for Teens is a week-long program that exposes students to many aspects of museums and the art world. This is a workshop focused on connecting with peers and exploring new ideas rather than a technical or portfolio-based program.

Participants will:

  • Learn about careers in the arts from art-world professionals
  • Explore artworks at The Warehouse and Nasher Sculpture Center
  • Create hands-on projects focused on major ideas in modern and contemporary art with professional artists
  • Exchange ideas with peers interested in the arts

An ideal candidate:

  • Shows strong interest in pursuing a college degree or career in art history, studio art, or art education
  • Pursues creative interests outside of school assignments
  • Maintains a positive attitude and works well with others

Students who have completed 9th, 10th, 11th, or 12th grade in 2025 may apply. Tuition for accepted participants is free of charge, and includes art supplies, meals, and a transportation stipend.

Priority Application deadline is April 13. Up to 30 students will be accepted.
